🌉CROSS-CHAIN BRIDGE
Bridge tokens from other chains to Mantle or Monad.
WHAT IS A CROSS-CHAIN BRIDGE AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
A cross-chain bridge is a tool that allows you to move assets or information from one blockchain to another. Since the chains cannot communicate natively, the bridge acts as a secure intermediary.
Token Locking on the Source Chain
When a user sends a token through the bridge, that token doesn't actually travel. It is locked or deposited in a smart contract within the original network.
Transaction Verification
The bridge verifies that the transfer was legitimate. This can be done using validators, smart contracts, or cryptographic mechanisms.
Issuance of the Equivalent Token on the Destination Chain
Once the transaction is verified, the bridge releases or creates an equivalent token on the other network. hThis token maintains a 1:1 relationship with the original.
Reverse Process for Returning Funds
If the user wants to return to the original chain, they must return or lock the equivalent token on the destination chain, and the bridge will release the original tokens.
WHAT IS IT FOR?
It allows you to move funds between networks, access lower fees, use apps available on other networks, and make better use of liquidity.
